Most resorts are located in the Green Mountain range, from north to south. Killington, which spans six interconnected mountain peaks, is the largest resort. Mad River Glen located in Fayston is renowned for it’s telemark skiing. In the northern part of the state Jay Peak is famous for it’s natural snow.

Southern Vermont has great skiing at Bromley, Stratton, Mount Snow and Magic Mountain. A little further north, resorts like Killington, Okemo and Suicide Six offer a little more vertical. Skiers in the northern half of the state love Sugar Bush, Mad River Glen and Stowe.

One of the country’s earliest ski resort towns, Stowe was already popular in 1937, when one of the world’s first chairlifts was installed here. Stowe now carries skiers to trails via two gondolas , three high-speed quads, three conventional quads, two triples, and three double chairlifts. More than half the 116 trails are for intermediates, with 29 for experts and 19 for beginners. Although eastern skiing may not offer the high altitudes and long runs of the Rockies and other western ski mountains, it offers plenty of terrain to challenge expert skiers and boarders.

Look for some of the East’s best terrain providing skiers and riders with exciting tree glades, long groomed trails, and abundant natural snowfall. This luxurious resort offers a golf course, ski in/ski out access, and a full service spa. Take advantage of ski storage on site, and enjoy downhill skiing and snowboarding.
